The work produced is in direct response
to visual stimulation. It is hoped to convey the feelings engendered,
the impact made by being in a particular place at a particular time.
The object is to communicate to the viewer directly visually, unassisted
by any written information other than title and medium used.
It is considered that various elements
need to be present to satisfy an inbuilt need for a sense of balance
that lies deep within all of us. Design is all-important, not for
superficial reasons but to satisfy a psychological need. Contrast
between light and dark gives definition to the subject matter but
also serves the same purpose. Colour and pigment combinations are
vital to a reaction to a painting and are looked upon as an emotional
pathway into the work.
The sum total is to convey to the
viewer this sense of adventure, excitement, and joy that can be produced
by the visual world. Whether the Artist has been successful or not
is up to each individual to decide for him/herself but I hope viewing
this site will give pleasure or at least interest.
